Our Initiatives

Health & Wellbeing

Jamaica’s health disparities are both complex and serious, and we at JVDFF are dedicated to addressing them. We offer health and wellbeing workshops that educate women about the most common chronic illnesses, mental health challenges, and mental illnesses affecting communities in Jamaica. These workshops provide prevention tips and strategies for living a healthier life. To ensure accessibility, all sessions are virtual, allowing women from across the island to participate and benefit.

Stop Violence Against Women

Launched in 2023, the S.A.F.E. Women Workshop is a community-driven initiative aimed at addressing violence against women and girls in Jamaica. These three-hour sessions provide participants with essential safety awareness, self-defense techniques, education on gender-based violence, and access to wellness resources. Since its inception, over 100 women have completed the program. We aim to offer S.A.F.E. Women Workshops three times a year, serving at least 60 women annually. While the program is currently fully virtual, we are expanding to include in-person sessions this year to increase accessibility and impact.

Mission in Action

The Mission in Action project was successfully completed on October 22, 2024, at **Petersfield Primary & Infant School** (PPIS). TGenerous donations of books, materials, equipment, and supplies will play a crucial role in tsparking children’s imaginations and expanding their understanding of themselves, their community, and the world. Books are a vital tool for improving reading skills and equipping students to make well-informed decisions about their future.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all the benevolent donors whose contributions were key to the successful completion of this project.
